The Holmes PTO is committed to building a welcoming and inclusive school community that respects and honors the backgrounds, experiences, similarities and differences of all students and their families. We believe every child, caregiver and staff member should feel valued, supported and connected to our school.

DIVERSITY

Diversity means recognizing, respecting and celebrating the many identities and experiences within our community. These include race, ethnicity, culture, religion, socioeconomic background, language, age, sexual orientation,, gender identity, family structure, disability and learning differences.

Our community is strengthened by the ideas, perspectives, talents and experiences that students, families and educators bring. We strive to ensure that this diversity is reflected in PTO programs, events, communications and leadership.

EQUITY

Equity means recognizing that each student and family may need different resources and support to participate and thrive. Providing the same opportunities to everyone is a starting point; making those opportunities accessible requires us to understand and address individual needs.

We are committed to listening, recognizing bias and removing barriers to participation. Through our funding, programming and partnerships, we work to ensure taht financial circumstances, language, ability or other factors do not revert anyone from taking part in our school community.

INCLUSION

Inclusion means creating a community where everyone is welcomed, heard and valued. It requires us to invite different perspectives, make space for voices that may be underrepresented and ensure that families have meaningful opportunities to participate and contribute.

Our goal is for every member of the Holmes community to feel a sense of belonging and know that their voice matters.
